How Cool is Your IDT Blog?
Blogs about: Instructional Design, is a cool and fun site. Why? Because it does what it is designed to do, allow you to network with other instructional design professionals and educators. The site includes various blogs with tags on everything related to instructional design, project management, e-learning, webinars, training, random information, and there is even a recent review of graduate instructional design programs; which according to the author you'll be happy to know, there is no credible ranking for on-line programs. The author suggests individuals do the research and find the program that fits their goals. Most of the blogs are thoughtful contributions and would be a useful site in assisting those who want to learn how to design instruction.
Internet Time Blog is a site created to educate e-learning network designers. The blog focuses on design theory, user interface and graphics. The site is crammed with useful information, there are many links to other websites but it is difficult to understand way the blogger transitions to those sites. This blog is more like an encyclopedia of instructional design information with little to no helpful reflection, as well the last update was over five years ago.
IDEAS: Instructional Design for ELearning ApproacheS provides information related to e-learning and instructional technology the sites focus is educational; my assumption is that the author teaches future teachers and has created the blog to answer questions and share learning materials. The author shares many links, however, several of them are obsolete. The information has not been updated since 2003 therefore this would not be a resourceful site.
Instructional Open Studio I like this site because it provides practical and relevant information for instructional design leaders working with educational curriculum. There are numerous blog topics, a IDT roundtable which includes several videos that showcase faculty who are passionate about sharing their tools, go ahead check it out !
Another fun site is E-Learning & Instructional Design 101, what’s fun about it? How about the design of the site for starters, it’s fun and playful not overwhelming with details. The links are thoughtful but most of all useful, the information on building your course is priceless and the tips and tricks to improve your Power Point skills is definitely something everyone working in this profession should hone. This is a wonderful site and would definitely be a useful resource for anyone working in instructional technology.
